Canton Public Library Summer Program
The Canton Public Library and I have worked together many times before, but this particular project is the biggest one we've done yet. Last year, Laurie and I worked together on a postcard mailer that would promote their summer program, but this year Laurie wanted to go all out. Rather than just doing a postcard, to get the patrons involved and to create something memorable, I created an 18x24 poster that has all 106 summer events listed, as well as a postcard mailer, and a 10x13 envelope that will hold the poster.
The poster was a giant undertaking - figuring out how to format a poster in a non-calendar like way, but while maintaining readability for all ages was an important aspect that went into designing it. Of course, through trial and error and completely scrapping what I started with, the poster that became the best solution is what is shown below. The colors, the typography, the texture all incorporate a retro vibe while still being fun and it appeals to all ages. All of the icons are used throughout all of the pieces to pull all of them together to create cohesive marketing materials.
